Introducing Emerald and Maroochydore Chiropractor Dr. Scott Stephens

After starting chiropractic care as a teenager in his hometown of Davenport Iowa, Dr. Stephens soon decided that this was the career pathway he wanted to take.

“I was amazed at how much chiropractic care helped me where conventional medicine was of no help.  I suffered from migraines, growing pains, bloody noses and seemed to get colds and flu very easily, I also had a bad scoliosis that my chiropractor picked up.  After my first adjustment my “growing pains” of 5 years stopped.  My medical doctor could only give me drugs to help ease the pain.  Soon after that my migraines and bloody noses stopped.  And after 18 months my 35-degree scoliosis was all but corrected. If it weren’t for chiropractic health care my life would have turned out much different.”

Dr. Stephens began his chiropractic education, with his pre-chiropractic requirements at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. There he studied basic pre-professional courses with an emphasis on the basic science courses such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his course of study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. During his four years of studies at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic.

“Each year,” continues Dr. Stephens, “the staff and I attend various seminars to keep up with the latest in the latest research and newest developments in the chiropractic profession. That keeps our skills in top form.”

Dr. Stephens has helped thousands of Emerald and Maroochydore area resident’s regain their health since opening his practice in 1991.

Dr Stephens Asks some important questions of interest to Emerald residents - Chiropractor Emerald Dr Stephens Asks...

How come medical doctors don't recommend chiropractic?
That's changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. As more and more Emerald folks seek alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patients to chiropractors.
If you have a fever, are you sick or healthy?
Chiropractors love asking this question because it gets to the root of the chiropractic difference. Turns out fevers, vomiting, coughing and even sneezing are all healthy responses. It means your body is working correctly. Taking medications to suppress these natural processes can actually prolong your recovery.
